The Perez-Verstappen relationship looks to have gotten worse as Sergio Perez‘s father said that the Mexican wins races while the Dutchman does not.
The Mexican’s father told esto.com.mx about the dispute between Perez and Verstappen that his son didn’t require anything from anybody. In a statement that is sure to stir up a few debates, Perez’s father also asserted that Verstappen perceives Checo as a danger and is behaving accordingly. He stated:
“He never asked for anything from anyone and always paid for everything himself. This is “Checo,” and on Sunday he will overtake everyone. It would have been much better if he had won the race in Brazil or received 10 points.”
The father of Perez stated, “Due to what he is doing, nowadays Max can already feel Checo breath’s in his helmet. He had never had a partner like her; the others were far less capable. ‘Checo’ triumphs in the very challenging races that Max is unable to. It amazes me that they stand up for him; it gives me the most pleasure.”
This is at a moment when Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have both partially put the past behind them and moved on. Perez has already attempted to dispel speculations that he crashed in Monaco qualifying on purpose earlier in the week.
As he stated to Racingnews365: “Everyone makes errors in Monaco, so it’s not like it was done on purpose. You already have access to all the material and may go see it. Everyone makes errors in Monaco, or in general areas in qualifying like I almost did in Turn 1. That is nothing more than conjecture spread by the media and rumors spread by individuals.”
Sergio Perez anticipating the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2022, Sergio Perez will get off to a strong start. To get P2 in the drivers’ championship this weekend, the Red Bull driver must defeat Ferrari’s, Charles Leclerc. The driver was concentrated on getting off to a strong start. He stated:
“We must complete the task tomorrow and provide a significant outcome for the Team since we still have a very long race ahead of us. To pull away from Charles, it will be crucial to start strong and off the line properly. We are certain that we can compete harder and maintain a solid race pace tomorrow.”
Sergio Perez added the following: “Compared to Brazil, we are more satisfied with the performance. If we can finish second in the Drivers’ Championship and create Team history, it will be a fantastic year for us. We’ll put forth a lot of effort, and maybe we’ll succeed.”
From this point on, the Perez-Verstappen dynamics will be highly exciting, and the race at the Yas Marina Circuit will be very heated.
