Lando Norris has said that when they were teammates at McLaren, both he and his colleague Daniel Ricciardo developed a “weird” interest in photography.
Beginning with the 2021 season, Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo formed a team. Before Oscar Piastri replaced Daniel Ricciardo at the conclusion of the 2022 season, their cooperation at McLaren lasted two years.
In an interview with RacingNews365.com and other media outlets, Lando Norris discussed how he was able to forge a close bond with his colleague. Lando Norris stated:
“I believe it’s something about how I’ve always developed to have strong connections with all of my colleagues. They and I, I believe, became close both on and off the racetrack. I think I’ve always developed a solid level of respect with all the drivers I’ve worked with.”
“Perhaps Daniel will say other things in the future,” he said. “Naturally, you get to know each other quite well, and he is the man I’ve been working closely with for the last several years.”
“So I suppose you establish a bit of a relationship, that you’ll miss the person because we have become, I believe, wonderful friends,” he said of the pair’s newly discovered love in photography. “It’s strange, but we’ve both become into photography! It will be good to see Daniel back in the paddock the following season. I believe he’s fantastic for Formula 1; he’s funny. It’ll be good because even though I’ll miss him, I’ll still see him.”
In 2022, McLaren fell short of expectations, according to Lando Norris
Recent worries about entering into a long-term deal with McLaren were addressed by Lando Norris.
Although Lando Norris has shown the ability to compete with the best on the grid, his affiliation with McLaren may operate as a barrier. Although Lando Norris is aware that the squad did not meet its goal this year, he remains confident about his future with the group. He explained to Sky:
“It’s simple honesty, just faith. The key thing I need is that. I don’t like BS or having others attempt to make me happy. Just being honest is what I enjoy. I believe in McLaren. I have confidence in my coworkers and the whole team. Only time will tell. You may have a reasonable chance of being somewhere, but you can never be really sure.”
“If I reflect back to before this season, did we accomplish in 2022 what we need to have done as McLaren?” he said. Sincerity says “no. We can’t be pleased with where we’ve been this season if we want to perform well, win races, and eventually become champions, but we can be happy with the progress we’ve made.”
Next season, the Briton will work with Oscar Piastri at McLaren. After placing sixth in the championship in 2022, the team (159) will be hoping for better results this time around.
