Fans acknowledge greatness as Cristiano and Messi tribute video emerges

Ronaldo and Messi remain among the world’s best players but one day they will have to hang their boots.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are arguably two of the best players to have ever played the beautiful game. Both players – Cristiano, 35, and Messi, 32 – have broken records after records over the years and continue to impress the footballing world. We have been blessed to witness the heroics of these two men over the years.

However, they have not shown any signs of a decline anytime soon. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a fantastic goal against Verona in Juventus’ shocking 2-1 defeat in Serie A and in the process, bagged another record for scoring in most consecutive matches for Juventus in the Italian top-flight. In Spain, Messi also managed to shine for FC Barcelona as he assisted thrice in their recent victory against Real Betis.

The debate over whether Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi is the ultimate Greatest Of All Time is one that divides opinion and fans of both players have often been at loggerheads. However, a tribute video to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi that emerged on Twitter saw the fans acknowledging the greatness of these two men, who have been enthralling us with their performance on the pitch.

Messi and Ronaldo still among the best in the world

While there is no denying the fact that Ronaldo and Messi remain among the best footballers in the world right now, they will one day have to hang the boots. So, it was nice to see the footballing world appreciate the work they have put in over the years. One Twitter user went on to say, “The GOAT debate ends here. We have two players at number 1. Neymar is number 2.”

Messi recently picked up his sixth Ballon d’Or, moving one ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has five. The Portuguese has responded in stunning fashion on the pitch, has been on a scoring spree ever since. Messi may not have scored in a similar fashion but Argentina has assisted five goals for Barcelona in last two La Liga matches. Marvelous!
