“The best Transfer deal ever” Manchester United fans celebrated as the star is set for the departure from the club.
Manchester United are prepared to let the 31-year old ex-Everton star leave after falling out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Fellaini has blown hot and cold during his time at Manchester United. Signed from Everton in 2014, he initially struggled. He then emerged as a key player for Louis van Gaal, though, helping them win the FA Cup in 2016.
Fellaini has played 177 times for United in all competitions, scoring 22 goals winning four trophies, including the Europa League and FA Cup in the process.
The Belgian has reportedly agreed terms with Chinese Super League (CSL) team Shandong Luneng Taishan, in a deal said to be worth around £10 million. It is understood that the two clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer, with the 31-year-old flying to China to finalise the deal after passing his medical.
Marouane Fellaini has in all probability confirmed his departure from Manchester United on social networking site Instagram, with the midfielder posting a picture on the site of himself, his brother and agent Karim Mejj at the Manchester Airport, with the caption reading, “Let’s go.”
Fans have now taken to social media to make their feelings on the Belgian clear. While some United supporters have heralded the 31-year-old, many are glad to be seeing the back of him.
Fellaini who was a regular under former manager Jose Mourinho, has struggled for gametime under new interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, only getting 31 minutes on the pitch under the Norwegian. He was out of favour from United’s new manager. Chinese super League will be closing on 28th February but United wants to sell the player as soon as possible.
