FC Barcelona has been negotiating for the transfer of Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan. However, the negotiations are currently under halt because Inter Milan has made their intentions clear.
The Italian side has said that they are not backing off from the 111 million euros release clause of Lautaro Martinez. Meanwhile, Barcelona is in no position to pay that big amount currently, due to the shortage of funds.
So, the deal for Lautaro Martinez looks very unlikely as of now because of the high release clause of the player. As reports say, the Blaugranas have turned their attention to another striking option from the Bundesliga. Barcelona had a remarkable opportunity to sign Erling Haaland from RB Salzburg in this winter transfer window. However, Barca rejected the opportunity and Borussia Dortmund bought him for just 18 million pounds.
The main reason why Barcelona did not go for Haaland was his agent Mino Raiola. Barca shares a strained relationship with the high profile agent after he forced Mathijs De Ligt to choose Juventus instead of Barcelona. Although there is a bad relationship between Barcelona and Raiola, the Catalan Club has still enquired about the player now.
Haaland is a hot prodigy right now and any club will have a go for him, looking at his form. Haaland has been in a brutal form in Bundesliga this season having scored 16 goals in 14 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in his debut season. The 19-years-old is a quality striker!
The Uruguayan Luis Suarez is reaching the twilight of his career and certainly seems to lose his agility after the injury he suffered in this season. Barcelona thought of Lutaro Martinez as the replacement to El Pistolero. However, the 111 million euros release clause is too high for Barca at this moment.
Meanwhile, Haaland has the same number of goals in Bundesliga as Lautaro has scored in all competitions in this season. Haaland has a release clause of 75 million euros. Real Madrid is interested in signing the 19-years-old. Sport Bible reports the signing of Kylian Mbappe to be complicated and expensive for the Los Blancos.
As per reports from Don Balon, Barcelona president Bartomeu is in negotiation with Dortmund and Mino Raiola. Barca has to simply pay the 75 million euros release clause to secure his signing.
