To what might serve as a dream come true, Roger Federer has raised the hopes of millions today. He said his ideal doubles partner would be Nadal. Talking at a promotional event in Prague, Federer was talking about the first edition of the Laver Cup to be held this year. Both Federer and Nadal are set to be in the European team, drawn up against the Rest of the World side.
The Laver Cup:
The Laver Cup is a Ryder Cup kind of a trophy, to be hosted as a tribute to Tennis legend Rod Laver. The game will be played between Europe and Rest of the World. The top 4 ranked players in both Europe and the Rest of the World qualify for the event. Europe is represented by Murray, Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal plus two wild cards. The other side includes Nishikori, Raonic, Kyrgios, and Sock. The wild cards on both sides will be picked by the respective captains of the team. Borg captains the Europeans, while the Rest of the World is taken over by McEnroe.
The event is scheduled to take place in the month of September. With 4 matches a day scheduled, Laver Cup promises to be fun.

Roger Nadal partnership:
Their rivalry is probably the most intense in the Open era. Elegance on one side and brute force on the other, the men from Basel and Madrid are a class of their own. With the recently concluded Australian Open, both men showed they still have their older selves to offer. Federer did win the trophy, but it was heavily contested by both sides.
When these two will come together, it will be a visual treat. Seeing one of the two most respected rivals play alongside will be special for the sport. Despite their competitiveness, there is no shred of bitterness between the two. Federer went on to say that he would share his Australian Cup trophy with Nadal if he could. Both have a special bond and have time and again expressed respect for each other. Therefore, fans can only hope and wait in anticipation of the much-desired event
