FIFA World Cup 2022: Eight teams remain in the latest edition of FIFA’s flagship event. After the group stage, 16 teams packed their bags while another 16 progressed to the round-of-16 of the quadrennial event.
Now that the round of 16 fixtures have been over, only eight teams remain in the competition as another eight headed for the exit door.
The eventual winners are just three wins away from the FIFA World Cup 2022 title. They have to win the quarter-final, semi-final, and final matches to clinch the coveted FIFA World Cup title at the end of a month-long tournament in Qatar.

Argentina sealed their place in the FIFA World Cup 2022 quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Australia in the round-of-16. The Netherlands, meanwhile, registered an impressive 3-1 win over the USA to secure passage to the last 8 of the competition.
England vs France
England secured an impressive 3-0 win over Senegal to book their place in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. The Three Lions will be up against the defending world champions France in the last 8. France have sealed their place in the quarter-finals after coasting past Poland 3-1 in the round of 16.
Brazil vs Croatia
Brazil produced one of the best performances of FIFA World Cup 2022 as they dismantled South Korea in a first half that saw four goals. The South American heavyweights romped to a 4-1 win over South Korea in the round of 16. Croatia, meanwhile, edged out Japan in the penalty shootout in the round of 16 clash to earn a spot in Qatar 2022 quarter-finals.
Portugal vs Morocco
Morocco produced one of the shocks of the tournament when they defeated European heavyweights Spain in the FIFA World Cup 2022 round of 16. The African nation defeated Spain in the penalty shootout to progress to the quarter-finals. Portugal, meanwhile, made a statement win as they ran riot against Switzerland with a 6-1 win. Goncalo Ramos, who started the game in place of Cristiano Ronaldo, scored a hat-trick for Portugal.
