Find Out: Barcelona superstar reveals how Chelsea can beat them at the Camp Nou

Chelsea will take on Barcelona at the Camp Nou and Barcelona’s Jordi Alba is aware of Chelsea’s threat from counter-attacks.

The Catalans will take on Chelsea in the second leg of last 16 in the Champions League. The tie is currently hanging in balance after the 1-1 draw at the Stamford Bridge. Lionel Messi scored an all-important away goal for Barca in a game where the Catalans kept the possession with the Blues looking for counter-attacks.

Counter-attacking football tonight?

Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba expects Conte’s men to play the counter-attacking football once again. “We expect Chelsea to play as [they did] in the first leg. [Which is holding] the team back and seek the counter attacks to do damage. It will be a very difficult game.” Said the player in his surprise visit to the Adidas store on Tuesday.

Antonio Conte is expected to ditch the ‘False 9’ for the second leg, with Morata in line to start in the front. Jordi Alba’s concern is understandable as both Hazard and Willian will play just behind Morata and their pace will be crucial on the counters. Jordi Alba also commented on Barcelona’s ongoing season where the Catalans are still in a race for all three titles.

Valverde’s men are currently on the top of the league, 8 points ahead of Atletico Madrid. In the Spanish Cup, Blaugrana have a date for Final against Sevilla on 21st April. “It’s a very good season [for Barcelona] and we look forward to the tie against Chelsea. We hope to get through and then face what’s coming.”

The Spaniard has been in a great form this season and has been applauded for his telepathic linking with Lionel Messi. Alba has assisted 7 goals from the left flank and has also scored 2, both of them being assisted by Messi.

“I feel better every day, I keep learning and [I have gained] much more experience than in other years. I feel great, I hope I can win all the possible titles with Barcelona and then the World Cup, which is the only one I haven’t won yet.”

The much-awaited clash between Barcelona and Chelsea will finally take place at the Camp Nou tonight.

Author’s Take:

Chelsea will be looking for every single chance to counter and that is where Barca’s possession game can be dangerous for the Catalans themselves. Valverde needs to instruct his center-backs to be aware throughout the game as even slightest of the mistake can be fatal.
