Melbourne Stars have broken the string of three consecutive defeats and keep themselves in contention for a place in the playoffs. They defeated Hobart Hurricanes by 10 runs at Bellerive Oval, Hobart to secure the fourth spot in the points table. Stars played 7 games where they won 3 and lost 3 and 1 no result.
On the other end of the spectrum, Hurricanes couldn’t pull off a finish after a slow start in the run chase of 184. Talking about their progress in their campaign, they are placed third in the points table with 18 points. Having played 8 games, the Hurricanes won 5 games and lost 3.
Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder were by far the two better teams in the league so far. Sixers top the points table with 21 points whereas Thunder are second on the table with 19 points.
Fletcher takes two stunners in BBL
The 10th edition of the Big Bash League has witnessed a plethora of magnificent catches on the field. The likes of Mackenzie Harvey, Jason Roy impressed the cricket fraternity by taking screamers.
This time around, Andre Fletcher hogged the limelight by pulling off two stunners in the deep. During the starting phase of the ongoing league, Fletcher stunned the commentators and fans with a sensational no-look shot.
The Caribbean had unleashed a terrific piece of skill by hitting a six without even moving his head. The video of which went viral on social media portals. Fans loved watching the shot again and again.
Now this time, Fletcher made the headlines for his two impressive catches in the deep. During the match between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars, Fletcher made a huge impact on the field on two occasions.
Fletcher took 2 catches to dismiss Ben McDermott and Colin Ingram. During Hobart Hurricanes’ run-chase, Ben took the onus on himself and kept on hitting sixes and fours at will.
He missed out on scoring a century by just 9 runs as he ended up falling prey to Liam Hatcher’s bowling as Fletcher took a sensational catch during the last of the 19th over.
Before that, Stanlake dismissed Colin Ingram with good delivery. Ingram attempted to play a big shot but ended up finding Fletcher. The Caribbean dived to take a catch and then followed it up with a unique dance celebration.

Marcus Stoinis – Man of the Match
Stars all-rounder Marcus Stoinis who opened the batting went on to score an unbeaten 97 off 55 with the help of 7 fours and as many sixes. His special knocked helped his team post 183/6 in 20 overs. Nathan Ellis picked 3 wickets for Hurricanes.
In reply, Hurricanes managed to post 173/6 in their quota of 20 overs. Ben was the pick of the batsmen for Hurricanes as he scored 91 off 58 balls including 8 fours and 5 sixes. Sam Rainbird picked 2 wickets for the Stars.
