Alan Shearer has lavished praise on Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland for their performance in Manchester City’s win over Arsenal.
Manchester City welcomed Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium in their most recent fixture in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola and co. cruised to a comfortable 4-1 win over Arsenal. A brace from Kevin de Bruyne and a goal each from John Stones and Erling Haaland earned Manchester City all three points from the fixture.
Both Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland were sensational for Manchester City as they brushed Arsenal aside at the Etihad Stadium. Kevin de Bruyne opened the scoring for Manchester City in the seventh minute of the game. Erling Haaland assisted the goal. De Bruyne then assisted for Manchester City’s second goal of the match, scored by John Stones on the stroke of half-time.
Kevin de Bruyne then made it 3-0 for Manchester City in the 54th minute, his goal once again assisted by Erling Haaland. Rob Holding pulled one back for Arsenal in the 86th minute, but Haaland scored in injury time to restore a three-goal lead for Manchester City.

Kevin de Bruyne ended the game with two goals and an assist to his name, while Erling Haaland registered a goal and two assists.
Speaking on Match of the Day, Alan Shearer heaped praise on Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland, claiming that the Manchester City duo were unplayable against Arsenal. He also said De Bruyne and Haaland bullied Gabriel Magalhaes and Rob Holding.
“They [De Bruyne and Haaland] were unplayable tonight, they bullied the two centre-halves Gabriel and Rob Holding,” Alan Shearer said on Match of the Day [via Metro].
“Every time the ball went up, their understanding to know when, how and where to run, the timing, and then the finish. They were never too far from each other, De Bruyne was always within five, ten yards of Haaland.
“It was a magnificent performance from start to finish from Man City, they totally dominated in every position. Some of the play tonight was absolutely magnificent.
“Haaland was too strong, he got one goal, he could of or should of had three or four. His finishing tonight wasn’t like how it has been the rest of the season. Arsenal just couldn’t cope with them tonight, they did bully them.”
