RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks. The Croatia international is currently among the most promising defenders in Europe.
He impressed with his performances during the FIFA World Cup 2022. Gvardiol was among Croatia’s top performers in their third-place finish in the tournament. The 20-year-old defender played seven games during the tournament, scoring one goal.
Josko Gvardiol has also been a key player for the Red Bulls since the start of the last season. He has played 65 games (in all competitions) for the German outfit so far, registering three goals and four assists.
The Bavarian director Hasan Salihamidžić has claimed that the club is not looking to sign a new centre-back amid Josko Gvardiol rumors.

Bayern Munich director responds to Josko Gvardiol rumours
Speaking to the media, he said: “No signing of another centre-back is planned. We’re well-equipped at centre-back with de Ligt, Lucas Hernández and Upamecano, three top players. We also have Josip Stanišić”.
Josko Gvardiol is one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe. Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid have all shown interest in signing. Leipzig have reportedly received several inquries about his avaliabilty in recent weeks.
However, Leipzig’s sporting director Eberl wants to keep him at the club. He recently said: “I am happy now that I can work with guys like him and I want to do it for more than half a year. Accordingly, I hope that he will play with us for a long time.”
Emiliano Martinez linked with a move to the Allianz Arena
According to the Sky Sports, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The Bavarians see him as a replacement for Manuel Neuer, who is expected to miss the rest of the season with an injury.
Martinez impressed with his performances for Argentina during the FIFA World Cup 2022. He won the Golden Glove after keeping three cleansheets in seven games. The 30-year old goalie has also been a star performer for Aston Villa since arriving from Arsenal in the summer transfer window of 2022. He has kept 30 clean sheets in 91 appearnces(in all competitions) for the Birmingham outfit thus far.

Apart from Martinez, Yann Sommer is another goalkeeper who has been linked with a move to the Allianz Arena in recent weeks.
