Bayern Munich have not opened talks with Croatia national football team goalkeeper Dominik Livaković ahead of the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Bayern Munich are looking to add a goalkeeper to their squad following the injury their no.1 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer suffered earlier this month. Manuel Neuer broke his leg during vacation after Germany’s national football team’s FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage exit. The German goalkeeper broke his leg in a skiing accident and has been ruled out of the remainder of the 22/23 season.

Reports have said Bayern Munich are looking to recruit a goalkeeper to replace Manuel Neuer for the remainder of the season, and the German behemoths have been linked with a move for Croatia national football team goalkeeper Dominik Livaković.

However, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayern Munich have never opened talks to sign Dominik Livaković. He reports that there was not even a concrete conversation with the Croatian agents.

Although Bayern Munich have not, per Fabrizio Romano, opened talks with Dominik Livaković, the Croatian goalkeeper has attracted interest from elsewhere following his impressive performances at FIFA World Cup 2022.

Dominik Livaković was stellar for Croatia as they reached the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022, where Argentina defeated them 3-0. Croatia will now square off with Morocco in the third-place play-off.

Dominik Livaković currently plays for the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb. He has been playing for Dinamo Zagreb since 2016. The 27-year-old goalkeeper has so far featured in 263 games across all competitions for the Croatian behemoths.

Livaković has more than one more year left on his current contract with Dinamo Zagreb. He last renewed his contract with the Croatian club in 2021, and his current deal with them runs until 2024.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano also reports that Bayern Munich’s top priority to replace the injured Manuel Neuer is to bring back Alexander Nübel from AS Monaco. Alexander Nübel plays for AS Monaco on loan from Bayern Munich. He joined the Ligue 1 club on a two-season loan in June 2021. Bayern have the option to cut short the loan spell after one season.
