Liverpool have received a massive blow as midfielder Thiago injured his hip ahead of the Merseyside derby. Thiago has established himself among the Reds’ key players since joining from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window of 2020.

The Merseyside outfit often struggles without his presence. Liverpool’s win percentage whenever Thiago plays is 63.4 percent. Thiago has featured in 93 games(in all competitions) for the Reds so far, registering three goals and six assists. He was part of the PFA Premier League Team of the Season 2021-22.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago is expected to be out for four weeks with a hip injury. It came as a massive blow for the Reds ahead of the Merseyside derby.

While speaking to the media recently, Jurgen Klopp shed some light on the Spain international’s latest setback. He said: “Thiago has some problems. His hip, something like this. He wasn’t able to train.”

Apart from that, the German manager also provided an update on the fitness situation of other Liverpool stars. Klopp said: “The players are back in training. Jota is the closest, he has trained for two days.”

Another three days and then he is in contention I would say. Firmino, next one. Arthur similar. We have to see. Virgil is closer but I don’t think he’ll feature against Everton.”

AC Milan interested in Naby Keita

According to the Mirror (via Sportskeeda), Serie A giants AC Milan are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita during the summer window. The Guinea international is currently in the final year of his contract at Anfield. He could leave the Reds on a Bosman deal at the end of the current season.

Naby Keita has struggled with injuries and consistency since joining Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2020. The 28-year-old midfielder has played 127 games (in all competitions) for the Reds so far, registering 11 goals and seven assists.

Apart from AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund has also shown interest in signing Naby Keita in recent months.

When will Liverpool play next?

Liverpool are currently 10th in the Premier League table, with 29 points from 20 games. They will next lock horns against Everton in a league game at Anfield on February 14.
