Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has backed Vinicius Jr to write history at the Spanish club just as players like Toni Kroos, Casemiro, and Luka Modric did.
The Brazilian attacker has already established himself as a key player for Real Madrid. Vinicius Jr has been impressive for Real Madrid in the ongoing 22/23 campaign. He has racked up 19 goals and nine assists for the Spanish side in 39 matches across all competitions so far this season.
Vinicius Jr was impressive for Real Madrid as they defeated Espanyol 3-1 in a La Liga fixture in their most recent game. The 22-year-old bagged a goal as Real Madrid earned all three points from the fixture.
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 second-leg match against Liverpool, Carlo Ancelotti said Vinicius Jr’s performance against Espanyol was perfect.

“Vinicius is on his way to write Real Madrid’s history in the coming years, just as players like Casemiro, Kroos, and Modric did,” Carlo Ancelotti said.
Real Madrid goes into the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie with Liverpool with a three-goal advantage. The Spanish behemoths came from behind to register a stellar 5-2 win at Anfield in the first leg.
Vinicius Jr was key for Real Madrid as they pulled off a sensational comeback to defeat Liverpool. After Liverpool took a two-goal lead, it was a brace from Vinicius Jr that helped Real Madrid restore parity.
Carlo Ancelotti also said Real Madrid will not take a defensive approach against Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16 second leg. The Real Madrid manager said: “I think we haven’t talked much about that. We did a lot of good things. We are not going to do calculations.“
He added: “We are not going to propose a closed match but an open one, to play our best offensive football. And the players understand that. That’s why I think it’s going to be an open game.”
Meanwhile, the Champions League round of 16 second leg match between Real Madrid and Liverpool will kick off at 1:30 am Indian Standard Time on March 16.
