Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has named Bruno Fernandes as the Old Trafford outfit’s best player.
Bruno Fernandes has been a key player for Manchester United ever since signing for the English side in the January transfer window of 2020. The Portuguese international is a regular starter for Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, who became the club’s manager after the end of the 21/22 season.
Casemiro has been playing with Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United ever since the Brazilian midfielder signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2022. Like Fernandes, Casemiro has also established himself as a key player for the Premier League side.
Speaking ahead of their EFL Cup clash with Newcastle United in the final of the competition, Casemiro has named Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United’s best player.

“Before coming to Manchester United, I’d turn on the TV and watch their games… and he was the best player,” Casemiro said of Bruno Fernandes.
“He’s one of the guys that help up front and midfield, he is part of that transition. He’s our best player there.”
Bruno Fernandes has frequently worn the Manchester United captain’s armband whenever Harry Maguire is not in the playing XI. The Portuguese attacker has featured in 37 games across all competitions for the Red Devils so far in the 22/23 campaign.
Bruno Fernandes has amassed seven goals and 10 assists for Manchester United in those matches. In the EFL Cup, he has featured in four games and has scored two goals and bagged an assist.
Meanwhile, Casemiro has appeared in 34 games for Manchester United since his move to the Old Trafford outfit. The 31-year-old midfielder has made five appearances in the EFL Cup and has provided two assists.
Both Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, like their teammates, will be aiming to help Manchester United defeat Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final to end their six-year trophy drought.
Manchester United go into the game against Newcastle United on the back of their 2-1 win over Barcelona which saw them qualify for the Europa League round of 16. The EFL Cup final match between Man Utd and Newcastle United kicks off at 10:00 pm Indian Standard Time on February 26.
