Joao Felix: Chelsea have reached a full verbal agreement to sign Portugal national football team attacker Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on a loan deal until the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are in the January transfer market looking to bolster their squad and have been linked with a number of players.
Joao Felix, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window, is now set to join Chelsea on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The arrival of Joao Felix will bolster Chelsea’s squad, and the Blues will be hoping the Portuguese international can help them turn things around.

Joao Felix to extend his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2027 before joining Chelsea on a loan deal

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea have reached a full verbal agreement to sign Joao Felix on a loan from Atletico Madrid. As part of the loan deal, Chelsea will pay Atletico Madrid a €11m fee and will also cover 100% of Joao Felix’s wages during his stay at the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Fabrizio Romano also reports that Joao Felix will extend his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2027 before joining Chelsea on a loan deal. Felix’s current contract with Atletico Madrid runs until 2026.
The Italian journalist also reports that Joao Felix would fly to London in the coming hours to undergo medical ahead of his Chelsea move and sign the contract.
Joao Felix: Meanwhile, Joao Felix left Benfica to join Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019 as the Spanish outfit made the Portuguese attacker their most expensive signing ever.
Since signing for Atletico Madrid, Felix has featured in 131 games across competitions for the La Liga side. He has also scored 34 goals for Atletico Madrid so far.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, the club Felix is joining, languishes at 10th in the Premier League points table. They are way behind table-toppers Arsenal as Chelsea trail the north London outfit by a staggering 19 points.
Chelsea are also 10 points behind Manchester United, who are fourth in the points table. The Blues are as close to fourth place as they are to the relegation zone. Chelsea have also been eliminated from the EFL Cup and FA Cup, but they remain in contention for the Champions League title.
