Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier hailed Kylian Mbappe as the best striker in the world after he became the club’s all-time top goalscorer.
PSG took on Nantes in Ligue 1 in their most recent fixture and defeated them 4-2 to earn all three points from the match. Kylian Mbappe scored PSG’s fourth goal of the match, and the Frenchman, in that process, became the club’s all-time top goalscorer.
Kylian Mbappe’s goal against Nantes was the 201st goal he has scored for Paris Saint-Germain. That saw him move ahead of Edinson Cavani in PSG’s all-time top goalscorers chart.
Edinson Cavani scored 200 goals for Paris Saint-Germain during his stint at the French club between 2013 and 2020. Kylian Mbappe has now moved one goal ahead of the Uruguayan attacker in terms of the number of goals scored for PSG.

Speaking after PSG defeated Nantes 4-2 and Kylian Mbappe scripted history, Christophe Galtier was full of praise for the France international. Christophe Galtier hailed Kylian Mbappe as the best striker in the world.
“He’s the best striker in the world, we quickly saw that he wanted to get him. He was obsessed with at least scoring that goal. He writes a great page in the history of the club and he writes a great page in French football and a great page in world football,” Christophe Galtier told Canal+, according to Paris Fans.
Christophe Galtier added: “He is in my eyes the greatest striker in the world. We are happy to have him in Paris and happy that he is in the championship.”
Kylian Mbappe has been sensational for Paris Saint-Germain in the ongoing 22/23 campaign. The Frenchman has already amassed 30 goals for the French club in 30 matches across all competitions so far this season.
He is also leading the goalscoring charts in Ligue 1 this season. Mbappe has 18 goals to his name in Ligue 1 this season. He is two goals clear of second-placed Jonathan David, who has scored 16 goals for Lille in Ligue 1 so far this season.
Meanwhile, PSG now have 63 points from 26 matches in Ligue 1 so far this season. They are 11 points ahead of second-placed Marseille, who have a game in hand.
