Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier said he does not have to try to convince Kylian Mbappe to stay at the French club.
PSG’s exit from the UEFA Champions League at the round of 16 stage as European success once again eluded the French heavyweights has raised questions regarding Kylian Mbappe’s future at the club.
The France international snubbed a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2022 and instead extended his stay at Paris Saint-Germain by signing a new contract. But, Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move away from PSG several times even after putting pen to paper on a new contract in 2022.
Speaking after Paris Saint-Germain’s elimination from the Champions League, Kylian Mbappe refused to give a clear answer on his future beyond the end of the current campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain will take on Brest in a Ligue 1 fixture in their first match after their elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Ahead of the PSG vs Brest match, Christophe Galtier was asked about Kylian Mbappe’s future. Galtier said he does not need to try to convince Mbappe to stay at PSG beyond the end of the 22/23 season.
“I do not have to try to convince Kylian [to stay],” Christophe Galtier said. “Kylian has expressed it himself, but if you had asked any player you would have found him in the same state – very disappointed after the elimination.

“Concerning Kylian, Kylian is a PSG player and he shows it in every game. He has a great determination to succeed and to perform well in order to help bring the club up to as high a level as possible.”
Kylian Mbappe said after PSG’s Champions League exit that the only thing that matters to him now this season is winning the Ligue 1 title.
PSG are the defending Ligue 1 champions and are the favourites to win the title this season. Christophe Galtier’s men sit atop the Ligue 1 points. PSG have 63 points from 26 matches in Ligue 1 so far in the ongoing 22/23 campaign.
PSG enjoys an eight-point lead over second-placed Marseille, who have 55 points from 26 matches in the French top flight so far this season.
