Juventus star could be a potential replacement for Benzema at Real Madrid
It is unlikely that Los Blancos will find a like-to-like replacement for the Frenchman. But they can find someone who can provide them with plenty of goals. The player also needs to be young so that he can be a long-term replacement.
Thus based on these parameters, Duscan Valhovic could be an excellent option for Real Madrid. The Serbian currently plays for Juventus in Serie A. He joined the Bianconeri last January from Florentina for a fee of €75 million.
The former Florentina striker scored 29 goals last season. Although this season he has only managed seven goals but he has been largely injured. What makes Valhovic special is his desire to play well in big games.
It is also important to note here that Juve under Massimiliano Allegri doesn’t play expansive football. He is only 23 years old and so far a big move to Juventus hasn’t fazed him. This indicates that he can take on the pressure of playing for a big club.
Why it is the best time for Real Madrid to swoop in for Valhovic?
Perhaps statically on paper, the Serbian might not look like a great fit. However, there are other reasons why he can be a great replacement for Benzema.
Currently, Juventus are facing a big crisis. They have already been stripped of 15 points in Serie A. Even if they get a favorable order in appeal it might not be enough to secure Champions League football next season. Thus it is likely that it will be easier to negotiate with Juve for the Serbian next season.
Not only this it is difficult for Real Madrid to get other top strikers. Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe will command huge fees. Something Los Blancos are not in a position to pay. While Victor Osimhen will also be an expensive buy.
