Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez hopes that the Stamford Bridge outfit can sign Joao Felix on a permanent transfer in the summer.
Joao Felix currently plies his trade for Chelsea, who signed him on a loan from Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the season. Chelsea does not have any obligation to sign the highly-rated Portuguese attacker on a permanent transfer at the end of his loan spell.
But Enzo Fernandez, who Chelsea signed from Portuguese side Benfica in the 2023 January transfer window by breaking the British transfer record, has urged the Blues to sign Joao Felix on a permanent transfer in the summer.
Speaking to The Times, Enzo Fernandez described Joao Felix as a ‘great’ and ‘fantastic’ player. He also revealed he gets on with Felix off the pitch and that it helps on the pitch.

“When you get on with someone off the field it helps on the field to have that special connection,” Enzo Fernandez told The Times of his Chelsea teammate of Joao Felix.
“He’s a great player, isn’t he? A fantastic player. He’s got lots of ability and loads of qualities.
“He’s a key player for us, an important player and he’s on loan. Let’s hope that Chelsea can do all they can to keep hold of him come June, that would be great.”
Meanwhile, both Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix will be aiming to help Chelsea turn their season around. Chelsea have so far had an underwhelming 22/23 campaign and the Blues languish at 10th in the Premier League points.
Chelsea have already been knocked out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup and have suffered a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie.
The west London outfit will have to up their game to salvage their season. A top-six finish in the Premier League is not out of reach for Chelsea, but the Blues will have to hit form before it becomes a little too late.
In the Champions League, they have the players to turn their tie with Borussia Dortmund. They will be aiming to get the better of the German club in the second leg and secure their progression to the quarter-finals of the competition.
