Football News: FA banned Liverpool and Newcastle United coaches

Football News: Liverpool and Newcastle United coaches have been fined, banned and warned by the Football Association over a touchline incident at Anfield.

Newcastle’s new signing Alexander Isak gave them the lead at the 38th minute. Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino then equalised for the Reds in the 61st minute.

Finally, Liverpool Fabio Carvalho scored a 98th minute winner against the Magpies which started wild celebrations around the stadium.

The celebrations then led to a bottle being thrown at the Liverpool dugout from the Newcastle dugout which then resulted in a bust-up between Liverpool and Newcastle coaches on the touchline.

The Reds goalkeeping coach Achterberg was seen making a poor hand gesture toward Eddwie Howie and his coaching staff. Meanwhile, Daniel Hodges was involved in a heated altercation.

After the incident, FA has finally given its verdict. The duo has been banned for one fixture and also has been fined.

The FA said in a statement, “Coaches from Liverpool FC and Newcastle United FC have been banned, fined, and warned for breaching FA Rule E3 during their Premier League game on Wednesday 31 August 2022,”

It further added, “An independent Regulatory Commission has fined the Liverpool FC and Newcastle United FC coaches £7,000 and £6,000 respectively, banned them from the touchline for one fixture, and warned them as to their future conduct.”

Liverpool’s coaching staff along with Kuirgen Klopp were frustrated at the time-wasting tactics, implied Newcastle. So when Liverpool scored in the 98th minute despite the fourth referee showing only five minutes of extra time, it made them overjoyed. Newcastle backroom staff meanwhile became frustrated.

When asked about the incident Klopp questioned Newcastle’s gamesmanship and termed that as the for not having momentum.
