Chelsea are still backing Graham Potter to turn things around at the Stamford Bridge outfit despite the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Southampton in their most recent fixture, according to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph.
Chelsea have been far from their best this season and they now find themselves languishing 10th in the Premier League points table. They sacked Thomas Tuchel in September 2022 and appointed Graham Potter as their manager.
After a good start to Graham Potter’s stint as the Chelsea manager, things have gone south for the Stamford Bridge outfit. They hit a new low when they slumped to a defeat to Southampton, who are at rock bottom of the Premier League points table.
Chelsea have struggled to live up to the expectations this season despite their heavy spending in the summer transfer window of 2022 and the January transfer window of 2023.

Graham Potter and co. have not won a game in their last five matches, with their most recent winning coming in mid-January. Despite the slump in form that Chelsea finds themselves in, the club’s Board are backing Graham Potter to turn things around.
That’s according to Matt Law, who tweeted: “Told no change in Chelsea board’s position on Graham Potter. They are still backing him.”
Chelsea now have 31 points from 23 matches in the Premier League so far this season. While a top-six finish is not out of their reach, they will have to up their game before the gap to the top six-becomes too big to close.
Chelsea, who have already been knocked out of the EFL Cup and FA Cup, remain in contention for the UEFA Champions League title. However, the Blues have suffered a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the round-of-16 tie.
Chelsea will need to turn things around as quickly as possible if they want to salvage their season. They will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they square off with their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the English top-flight in their next game.
They will follow that up with a home match against Leeds United before taking on Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their Champions League tie.
