Graham Potter confirms Christian Pulisic is out for weeks, no timescale placed on Raheem Sterling’s return

Speaking after the match, Graham Potter was asked about the latest update on Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling, both of whom sustained injuries during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in a Premier League fixture prior to their FA Cup clash.
The Chelsea manager was also asked why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did not make it to the Blues squad for the FA Cup clash with Manchester City.
Graham Potter confirmed that Christian Pulisic has suffered a knee injury and admitted the USMNT international will be out for ‘weeks’. They are yet to confirm the extent of Raheem Sterling’s injury and have not placed a timescale on his return.
“Christian opened up his knee in the game the other day. We’re still sorting of analysing it but it’s going to be weeks I would say for him,” Graham Potter said [via Football.London].
“Raheem had an action in the first minute of the game, a back heel that was a bit strange, and felt something in his hamstring. Again we’re analysing that. Aubameyang had a tight back yesterday so was unable to travel.”
Meanwhile, the two defeats to Manchester City last week – one in Premier League and the other in FA Cup – have added further pressure on Graham Potter as Chelsea struggles to find their feet.
The Blues are already out of FA Cup and EFL Cup and find themselves 10th in the Premier League points table, a staggering 19 points behind table toppers Arsenal.
