ATK Mohun Bagan moved up to second position in the Hero Indian Super League after their thrilling victory over NorthEast United on Thursday at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. The game ended with ATK Mohun Bagan winning 2-1 (ISL).
The first goal of the match was scored by Liston Colaco in the 35th minute, while Aaron Evans was the one who tied the score in the 81st minute. Subhasish Bose scored the game-winning goal for the Mariners in their 50th match, which also happened to be his 99th Hero ISL game overall. This victory was the Mariners’ 50th overall.
The point-grabbing performance that the ATKMB turned in on Sunday in Mumbai was Juan Ferrando’s contribution to the reason why the starting lineup did not change. The NEUFC lineup went from a 5-3-2 to a 4-3-2-1 formation after Marco Balbul made a total of four substitutions.
Imran Khan and the two Gogoi brothers, Pragyan and Parthib, were given starting positions, while Jithin M.S. and Matt Derbyshire were given bench roles. In the first minute and fifteen seconds following the kickoff of the game, NorthEast United FC’s Parthib created the first opportunity of the contest.

The youngster’s attempt took a deflection from Vishal Kaith, hit the upright, and then went out of bounds, but he came perilously close to scoring. Two minutes later, Petratos managed to get past the offside trap at the other end of the field, but his shot missed the target.
The final ten minutes of the match were jam-packed with exciting moments. Aaron Evans scored the goal that tied the game with a diving header in the 81st minute, and it was assisted by a glancing header that was made by Jon Gaztanaga.
Petratos’ cross was met by Bose’s precise diving header in the 89th minute, breaking the hearts of the Highlanders and awarding the victory and all three points to the Mariners.
ATK Mohun Bagan moved up to second place and now has ten points as a result of the win. On November 20, which is a Sunday, they will travel to Goa in order to engage the Gaurs in combat.
Despite the fact that the Highlanders came quite close to scoring their first point of the season, it is likely that they will end up finishing the year near the bottom of the standings. They will have a vacation during the following matchweek before travelling to face Mumbai City FC on November 25. The match will take place in India.
