Joao Felix: Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has said that Joao Felix’s future at the Spanish club does not depend on him amid speculation linking the Portuguese attacker with a move away from the La Liga outfit in the January transfer window.
Joao Felix has been linked with an exit from Atletico Madrid in the upcoming January transfer window. A number of clubs, including the Premier League trio of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, have been linked with a move for the highly-rated attacker.
Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Ángel Gil Marín recently admitted Joao Felix could leave the club. One of the reasons the Atletico Madrid chief cited to suggest the two parties could part ways was the relationship between Felix and manager Diego Simeone.
Joao Felix has featured in 19 games for Atletico Madrid in the 22/23 season, but he made it to the starting XI in only 10 of those.

“Does not depend on me” – Diego Simeone addresses Joao Felix’s future at Atletico Madrid

Speaking after Atletico Madrid defeated Elche 2-0 in a La Liga fixture, Diego Simeone insisted that the future of Joao Felix does not depend on him.
“I make my normal comments,” Diego Simeone told reporters when asked to respond to rumours over Joao Felix’s future. “I think of the players who are with me, getting the best out of them for the team and for the club.
“What happens [in the market] does not depend on me. He played well with [Antoine] Griezmann and [Alvaro] Morata, and gives us options which do no harm.”
Diego Simeone also did not confirm whether Felix would stay at Atletico Madrid beyond the January transfer window.
“While he’s here, I’ll try to get the best out of Joao Felix for the club,” Diego Simeone said. “Then we will see what’s going to happen.“
Meanwhile, Felix was one of the scorers as Atletico Madrid defeated Elche. The Portugal international started for Atletico Madrid against Elche and sent his team ahead in the 56th minute of the match.
The victory takes Atletico Madrid’s point tally in the La Liga 22/23 season to 27. They have played 15 matches in the Spanish top flight so far this season. They are 10 points behind FC Barcelona, who sit atop the table having played a game less than that of Atletico Madrid.
