Joao Felix has hinted that he will stay at Chelsea if the club manage to secure the UEFA Champions League qualification for next season. The Portugal international is among the most talented attackers of his generation.
He joined Chelsea on a six-month loan deal from Atletico Madrid during the January window. The 23-year-old attacker has played five Premier League games for the Blues so far, scoring one goal in the process.
Joao Felix on Chelsea stay
Joao Felix has hinted that he could be open to joining Chelsea on a permanent basis. But the Portugal international has also stressed that the UEFA Champions League will play a key role in determining his future.
While speaking to the media, he said: “But now I’m focused on this Champions League, on the game. We have a lot of games yet to try to reach the Champions League in the league. It’s not over.”
“But, yeah, playing in the Champions League is an important decision, but the future no one knows, so let’s see what happens and then we’ll see.”
It has been reported that Chelsea are seriously considering making Joao Felix’s loan deal permanent next summer. However, the Blues are struggling in the league this term and are currently 11 points outside of UCL qualification places. Graham Potter needs to turn things around quickly in order to secure his qualification for Europe’s elite competition next term.
Chelsea linked with Wilfried Zaha
According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are currently battling with Arsenal to sign Wilfried Zaha next summer. The Ivory Coast international is currently in the final year of his contract with Crystal Palace.
Talks over a new deal have stalled in recent months. He could be available to sign on a free transfer next summer.
The 30-year-old attacker is currently among the most talented wingers in the Premier League. He has played 451 games (in all competitions) for the Palace so far, registering 89 goals and 76 assists. Zaha won the Crystal Palace Player of the Season accolade on three separate occasions.

When will Chelsea play next?
Chelsea will next lock horns against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League before facing Leicester City in the Premier League on March 11. Joao Felix is likely to play a key role in both games.
