Joško Gvardiol, who has attracted transfer interest from a number of top European clubs, has revealed that his goal is to play in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old Croatian defender currently plies his trade for RB Leipzig. The German club signed Joško Gvardiol from Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb in 2020. He has been playing for the Bundesliga outfit since the 21/22 season.
Speaking to The Times, Joško Gvardiol revealed he had the option to join RB Leipzig or Leeds United. Although Gvardiol has a goal of playing in the Premier League, he felt he needed to take a few more steps before he signed for a club in the English top flight.
“I had two options, between Leeds and Leipzig,” Joško Gvardiol told The Times. “[Marcelo] Bielsa was the coach and I don’t know if you know this but my goal in my career is to play in the Premier League. I didn’t speak with Bielsa but of course, he sends a few people and they came to Dinamo Zagreb.
