Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe refused to clarify his future beyond the current campaign when asked to after their exit from UEFA Champions League.
PSG squared off with Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 in their most recent fixture. The French side had fallen to a 1-0 defeat in the first leg and needed to turn the tie around in the second leg to progress to the quarter-finals.
But PSG failed to do so as Bayern Munich won the second leg 2-0. The German side sealed their place in the quarter-final of the Champions League with a 3-0 aggregate win over the French heavyweights.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored in the 61st minute of the match to give Bayern Munich the lead in the match. Serge Gnabry, on a substitute, doubled Bayern’s lead in the 89th minute as the defending Bundesliga champions knocked Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League.

After the match, Kylian Mbappe was asked to clarify his future beyond the end of the current campaign. The French refused to and insisted the only thing that matters to him at the moment is to win the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.
“No, no, I’m calm. The only thing that matters to me this season is to win now Ligue 1 and then we’ll see. At the moment, I’m only talking about this season. Nothing else matters to me,” Kylian Mbappe said.
Kylian Mbappe admitted that they are disappointed they have been knocked out of the Champions League, but stressed they have to move on and try to challenge everyone.
“We are disappointed. That’s how it is, we have to move on, and try to challenge everyone. We didn’t miss much when we look at the state of the two teams, [but] they have a team built to win the Champions League,” the Paris Saint-Germain attacker said.
“At the start of the season, during the first Champions League press conference, I said that we were going to do our best and give our maximum. We’re going to question ourselves and go back to our day-to-day life in Ligue 1.”
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe was linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain last year with Real Madrid interested in his services. But the Frenchman eventually decided to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
