Lionel Messi: A new meeting between Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-Germain will take place soon to decide the length of the new contract the Argentine would sign with the French heavyweights, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Lionel Messi’s current contract with Paris Saint-Germain is due to expire at the end of the season.
He has not yet renewed his contract with the Ligue 1 champions, which means he has less than six months left on his current deal with PSG.
Despite some speculation linking him with a move away, Lionel Messi is expected to put pen to paper on a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain that would extend his stay at the club beyond the end of the 22/23 season.

Lionel Messi to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain beyond the end of the 22/23 season

Fabrizio Romano reports that Lionel Messi plans to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain and that the Argentine discussed a verbal pact with the French side in December last year.
The Italian journalist also reports that a new meeting will take place between Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-Germain to discuss the length of his new contract soon.
Lionel Messi has been playing for Paris Saint-Germain since signing for the French outfit on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. After enduring a rather underwhelming 21/22 season with PSG, he has looked back to his best in the current campaign.
The Argentine has featured in 21 games across all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain in the 22/23 season and has racked up a respectable total of 13 goals. He has also registered 14 assists for Paris Saint-Germain in the current campaign.
Meanwhile, there have been reports of interest in Lionel Messi from Saudi Arabia. The general secretary of the Saudi Football Federation, Ibrahim Alkassim, recently addressed such speculations.
Ibrahim Alkassim admitted they would love to see Lionel Messi play in Saudi Arabia’s domestic league one day but claimed he is not aware of any discussions ongoing to bring the Argentine to the Middle East nation.
Meanwhile, Messi was in Saudi Arabia last week when Paris Saint-Germain faced Cristiano Ronaldo-led Riyadh All-Star XI in the Riyadh Season Cup. Messi scored a goal for PSG in that game as the French behemoths secured a 5-4 win over Riyadh All-Star XI, which comprised of Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr players.
