Wolves signed the Portugal international in a deal worth £38 million. The 23-year-old midfielder has had a mixed start to life in the Premier League. He has played 14 league games so far, registering one assist.

According to the Telegraph, Liverpool have resurrected their interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes. The Reds want to bring him to Anfield during next summer’s transfer window. They are willing to pay Wolves a transfer fee in the region of £44 million to secure his services.

Jurgen Klopp have struggled with his midfield options this season. Arthur Melo, Thiago, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson have all suffered injuries so far this season.

The Merseyside outfit have signed Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven earlier this window. However, Jurgen Klopp recently hinted that the club needs to sell before making further reinforcements to the squad this transfer window.

He said: “I am now seven years and a few months here and every transfer window is pretty much the same,” the Liverpool boss explained. “We talk about these things as though the money wouldn’t play a role. Like, ‘Who cares’ If there’s something we can do in January that means the right player & financial situation…then we will do it, but if not then we will not”.
