Football News: Musiala’s Career So Far
The talented footballer was born in Stuttgart, and his mother was German. At the age of seven, his family moved to England, where he spent his childhood.
In 2020, Musiala made his professional debut for Bayern’s youth team. But he did not stop there, as he became the youngest player to play for Bayern in the Bundesliga. He made his debut at the age of 17 years and 115 days.
The player was also a part of Bayern’s 2019-20 Champions League winning squad.
The young player scored his first Bundesliga goal against Schalke and became Bayern’s youngest goal scorer in the clubs’ history. He was just 17 years 205 days old. Muisala’s contract will run until 2026.
Musiala was eligible to represent three countries which were Nigeria, England, and Germany. The young midfielder played for England’s Under 15 to 21 squad. But he has now pledged himself to the German squad.
Matthaus is very optimistic about Musiala’s potential and compares him with Argentine superstar Lionel Messi. He spoke: “When he is on the field, this is like Messi three years ago.”
Musiala is a very versatile footballer who can play in different positions in the midfield. He mostly plays as a winger, but he can also play at attacking or central midfield positions.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Matthus told that his son is a big fan of Musiala and always buys the No 42 shirt for Bayern Munich and the No 14 shirt for Germany.
Matthus also mocked England’s manager’s choice and spoke: “You gave the best player from the young English generation to Germany — Musiala.”
The German legend also praised the young player’s pace, dribbling, passing, and scoring ability.
Matthus thinks: “In the future, he will be one of the very best players in the world.”
On the other side, Southgate blamed Bayern’s influence on the player. He “liked him to stay [with England] for certain.”
