Marc-Andre ter Stegen Reveals Barcelona’s Objectives For 22/23 Season

FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has insisted they will do everything to win every title they can possibly win in the 22/23 season.

Barcelona have had a mixed 2022/23 season so far and will resume their campaign by taking on Espanyol in a La Liga fixture later this week. The Catalan outfit currently occupies the top spot in the La Liga points table.

Xavi and co. have 37 points from 14 matches in the Spanish top flight so far in the 22/23 season. The Catalan outfit have 12 wins, one draw, and one defeat in the 14 games they have so far played in La Liga this season. They enjoy a two-point lead over fierce rivals Real Madrid, who sit second in the table.

Real Madrid, who are the defending La Liga champions, have 35 points from 14 matches in the Spanish top-flight – with 11 wins, two draws, and one defeat.

Although Barcelona have been impressive in the Spanish top flight, the same cannot be said about their performance on the European stage. The Spanish behemoths crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages.

Barcelona, who were in Group C alongside Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, and Viktoria Plzen, finished third and failed to qualify for the Champions League round-of-16. However, the third-place finish in Group C have earned Barcelona a spot in the Europa League knock-out round play-off.

Barcelona will take on Premier League behemoths Manchester United in the Europa League knock-out round play-off. The two European heavyweights will battle it out for a place in the last 16 of the Europa League 22/23 campaign.

Speaking to TV3, Marc-Andre ter Stegen discussed the return of club football and also revealed Barcelona’s objectives for the 22/23 season.

“We really want to go back to La Liga games. And for all the World Cup players we have the feeling that we could have done something more because now we have a good chance to go on and win a derby that is key for us to get into a good dynamic,” Marc-Andre ter Stegen said.

“We will do everything possible to win all the titles,” Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen added.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also in contention to win the Copa del Rey title. They will take on Intercity in the Copa del Rey round-of-32 match.
