Mesut Ozil Hails Cristiano Ronaldo as the Best Player of All Time

Mesut Ozil, who recently announced his immediate retirement from professional football, has hailed his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player of all time.

Mesut Ozil and Cristiano Ronaldo were teammates at Real Madrid between August 2010 and September 2013 when the German midfielder left the Spanish side to sign for Arsenal.

During his time at Real Madrid, Mesut Ozil formed a great partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo. Ozil won the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup titles once each with Real Madrid during his stint at the club.

In an interview with Marca, Mesut Ozil was asked whether he thought he and Cristiano Ronaldo formed one of the best-attacking partnerships in the world.

In response to the question, Mesut Ozil said it was so much fun playing together with Cristiano Ronaldo, who he hailed as the best player of all time.

Mesut Ozil said: “It was so much fun to play together with Cristiano Ronaldo who is for me the best player of all time. We both had a very good understanding on the pitch – it was perfect.

When asked who he would choose if he had to select just one partner on the field, Mesut Ozil once again named Cristiano Ronaldo. Ozil said for the best individual player, he would go with Ronaldo. He also said he would choose Sergio Ramos for the best leader and character and Karim Benzema for the best striker in front of the goal.

Mesut Ozil said: “The best individual player I would go for is Cristiano Ronaldo. For the best leader and character, I would choose Sergio Ramos. The best striker in front of the goal: my boy Benzi!

When asked to choose a manager, he named Jose Mourinho, who he described as the best manager of the last centuries.

He said: “For me, Jose Mourinho is the best manager of the last centuries. His tactical understanding is something else, but also the way he talks in the dressing room and how he always protects his team in the media. He really is world-class.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo currently plies his trade for Al-Nassr, Sergio Ramos for Paris Saint-Germain while Karim Benzema remains at Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, is the current manager of the Serie A side AS Roma.
