Arsenal have submitted a £60m bid to Brighton & Hove Albion for midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are looking to add a midfielder to their squad before the January transfer window closes. They have identified Moises Caicedo as a target, as evident from their submission of a bid for the Ecuadorian midfielder.
Moises Caicedo has also attracted transfer interest from Chelsea. The Stamford Bridge outfit have already tabled an offer for Caicedo, which Brighton & Hove Albion rejected.
Chelsea submitted a £55m bid for Moises Caicedo, and Arsenal’s bid for the 21-year-old is £5m higher than the Blues’ bid for the same player.

Brighton signed Moises Caicedo in February 2021

Brighton & Hove Albion signed Moises Caicedo from the Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle in February 2021. He then joined Belgian top-flight side Beerschot on a season-long loan from Brighton in the summer of 2021.
However, his stay at the Belgian club was cut short as Brighton & Hove Albion recalled him in January 2022. He made 10 appearances for Brighton in the remainder of the 21/22 season.
Moises Caicedo has been a regular starter for Brighton & Hove Albion in the ongoing 22/23 season. The 21-year-old midfielder has made 21 appearances for the Seagulls so far in the 22/23 season. He has also scored a goal and provided an assist in the ongoing campaign.
18 of his 21 appearances have come in the Premier League, where Brighton has so far played 19 matches in the 22/23 season. He has only missed one match for Brighton in the Premier League this season.
Caicedo has a contract that runs until 2025 with Brighton. That means he has more than two years left on his current contract with the Premier League club.
Brighton does not want to sell Moises Caicedo in the ongoing transfer window, and it remains to be seen if Arsenal will manage to pull off a deal for the Ecuadorian this month.
Meanwhile, Arsenal sits top of the Premier League points table with 50 points from 19 matches. They have a five-point lead at the top over second-placed Manchester City, who have 45 points from 20 matches.
Brighton, meanwhile, occupies the sixth place in the Premier League points table. They have 31 points from 19 matches.
