Barcelona are facing tough competition from Serie A club Napoli to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho. The Italy international is among the most talented midfielders in the Premier League.
He joined Chelsea from Napoli in the summer window of 2018. The 31-year-old midfielder has played 209 games (in all competitions) for the Blues so far, registering 29 goals and nine assists.
Jorginho helped the London outfit win one UEFA Champions League trophy and one Europa League trophy. He won the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year in 2020-21 and was also included in the FIFA FIFPro World XI in 2021.
However, he is in the final year of his current contract at Stamford Bridge. Talks over a new deal are yet to reach an agreement. He could leave the Blues on a Bosman deal at the end of the current season.

The Blaugranas are looking to sign players on a free transfer due to financial troubles. Jorginho is seen as a replacement for Sergio Basquests, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the current season.
Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi has also been linked with replacing Busquets in recent weeks.
In a recent interview with talkSPORT, Jorginho has expressed his desire to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge. He said: “Of course I do, I love Chelsea. But this is a thing I’m not going to think about now.
“I need to think about winning games. Otherwise, it’s a problem. I’ll focus game by game and then we’ll see what’s going to happen. But my mind is on Chelsea now and trying to win as many games as possible.”
Chelsea are currently working to sign midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica this window. His arrival will significantly affect Joringho’s game time at Stamford Bridge.
