Pedro Porro, who plays for Sporting CP, is close to joining Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of Pedro Porro and have been linked with a move for the Spaniard all January.
Fabrizio Romano reports that it is only a ‘matter of time’ before Tottenham Hotspur completes the move to sign Pedro Porro from Sporting CP.
Fabrizio Romano also reports all parties to expect the deal – which would see Pedro Porro leave Sporting CP and sign for Tottenham Hotspur – to be completed by the end of this weekend. Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting CP will also meet through intermediaries today to sort out the final details of the transfer, per Fabrizio Romano.

Pedro Porro will sign a contract until 2028 with Tottenham Hotspur

Pedro Porro has a €45m release clause in his contract with Sporting CP. However, Tottenham Hotspur wants to pay the transfer fee in installments rather than paying it in full.
Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting CP are closing in on an agreement that would see the English club pay the transfer fee to the Portuguese outfit in two or three installments.
Meanwhile, Romano has also reported Pedro Porro would sign a five-and-a-half-year contract with Tottenham Hotspur. That means the 23-year-old would join the north London outfit in a deal that runs until 2028.
Pedro Porro initially joined Sporting CP on a two-year loan from Manchester City in the summer of 2020. That deal also had the option of making his move to the Portuguese club permanent for a transfer fee of €8.5 million.
He made 37 appearances across all competitions for Sporting CP in the 2020/21 season. Porro then made another 35 appearances for the Portuguese side in the 21/22 season.
Sporting CP triggered the buyout clause in Porro’s contract and signed him on a three-year deal in 2022. He has so far made 25 appearances for Sporting Cp in the current campaign.
The 23-year-old has a contract that runs until 2025 with Sporting CP. That means he has more than two years left on his current deal with the Portuguese heavyweights.
Meanwhile, Tottenham will be hoping their signing of Porro will help them in their pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. Spurs currently sit fifth in the Premier League points table.
