Pele Health News: Brazilian legend Pele was hospitalized on Tuesday with a respiratory injection. Pele was diagnosed with bowel cancer in September 2021. The 82-year-old legend has been undergoing treatment since.
Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital, where Pele is hospitalized, said on Saturday that Pele is responding well to the treatment. He is undergoing chemotherapy against cancer and is also receiving antibodies to treat an infection. At present, his condition is reportedly stable.

Brazil football legend Pele provided an update on his health condition. On his social media account, Pele wrote: “My friends, I want to keep everyone calm and positive. I’m strong, with a lot of hope and I follow my treatment as usual. I want to thank the entire medical and nursing team for all the care I have received.”
He added: “I have a lot of faith in God and every message of love I receive from you all over the world keeps me full of energy. And watch Brazil in the World Cup too. Thank you so much for everything,”

Pele is among the best players to ever grace the game. He has played 1363 games (including friendlies) in his career, scoring 1279 goals, which is a Guinness record. The Times named him among the 100 most influential people of the 20th century and he was also one of the two joint-winners of the FIFA Player of the Century accolade.
Pele helped Brazil win three FIFA World Cups in 1958, 1962, and 1970 and is Brazil’s all-time top goalscorer, with 77 goals in 92 games. The Brazilian is also credited with connecting the phrase ‘The Beautiful game’ with football.

Football fans and players have taken to social media to send Pele messages of support.
France star Kylian Mbappe, who is widely considered as the next Pele, shared a post on his social media account, saying: ‘Pray for the King.
England captain Harry Kane also wishes Pele a speedy recovery during a press conference ahead of the Three Lions round-of-16 tie against Senegal.
