Liverpool signed Ibrahima Konate for £35 million from RB Leipzig during the summer window of 2021. He has played 34 games (in all competitions) for the Reds so far, registering three goals and one assist. The France international helped the Reds win the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and FA Community Shield last season.

His performances at the FIFA World Cup 2022 also received praise from his Liverpool teammate Joel Matip. He said: “Konate is so young and has so much quality already. He has shown again with the national team. He’s shown the class he has, self-confident, nice, and a really kind person.

Especially [at] this age, it’s amazing what he can do. He’s strong in challenges, in the air, on the ground, the pace, [he’s] comfortable with the ball – it’s everything you need.”

According to the Telegraph, Liverpool are exploring the possibility of signing Matheus Nunes at the end of the season. The Portugal international was also linked with a move to Merseyside prior to his switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers from Benfica last summer.

Nunes joined the Central England side for a transfer fee of £38 million. However, he has struggled to adapt completely at the Molineux Stadium. The Portugal international has played 16 games (in all competitions) for the Wolves so far, recording one assist.

Much of his struggles could be attributed to the change in management at the Molineux Stadium. Wolves have appointed Julen Lopetegui as their new manager after sacking Bruno Lage in November. Nevertheless, Nunes is a talented player and could prove to be a decent signing for the Reds.
