Rio Ferdinand has urged Manchester United to sign Tottenham Hotspur and England national football team striker Harry Kane in the next summer transfer window.
Manchester United are in the January transfer market looking to sign an attacker, with the club currently light of options in the attacking department following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from the club in November last year.
Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United in November after both parties mutually agreed to terminate the Portuguese superstar’s contract with the club. The decision to part ways came following Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
Wout Weghorst, who currently plays for Turkish outfit Besiktas on loan from Burnley, has been linked with a loan move to the Old Trafford outfit, with Manchester United reportedly interested in the services of the Netherlands international. But the 30-year-old is expected to be a short-term option in attack for the Red Devils for the remainder of the season.

Rio Ferdinand wants Manchester United to sign Harry Kane next summer

Speaking on his Vibe With Five YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand urged Manchester United to pay ‘big money’ and sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, who he insisted is not going to win anything at his current club, next summer.
Rio Ferdinand also noted that even if Man Utd spent big money on Harry Kane, they would be getting a striker who can get them 20-25 goals a season every year.
“Get Harry Kane in. Spurs fans, I’m sorry. You’re not going to win anything. He’s not going to win anything at Spurs. They’re in a bit of turmoil at the minute,” Rio Ferdinand said.
“Man United, if you’re going to go in the summer: ‘Let’s go and find a number nine for the next three or four years to hang our hat on, to get 20-25 goals a season every year,’ where are you going? You’re going to have to pay big money for Harry Kane. But at least you know you’re getting a man who gets 20-25 goals a season. So Harry Kane can’t be going anywhere but Man United.”
Harry Kane has been impressive for Tottenham Hotspur in the 22/23 season. The England international has already racked up 17 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in 26 appearances so far in the 22/23 season.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Harry Kane will renew his contract with Tottenham Hotspur or not. Should he decide not to, he is likely to attract transfer interest from a number of top clubs.
