Lionel Messi: The General Secretary of the Saudi Football Federation, Ibrahim Alkassim, has confessed they would love to see Lionel Messi play in Saudi Arabia’s domestic league one day.
Lionel Messi has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but Ibrahim Alkassim says he is unaware of any talks currently ongoing to bring the Argentine superstar to the Middle East nation.
Lionel Messi’s current contract with Paris Saint-Germain, the club he plies his trade for, is due to expire at the end of the season. The 35-year-old has not yet renewed his contract with PSG, and that has raised speculation surrounding his future.
However, he is widely expected to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, which would extend his stay at the Ligue 1 behemoths for at least another season.

We would like to see Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo in the same league says Saudi football chief

Ibrahim Alkassim admitted they would love to have Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi play in the same league.
“At the moment we do not know anything about a possible Lionel Messi arrival, although I do not hide that, as Saudi Federation, we would like to have him one day in the domestic league,” Ibrahim Alkassim told Marca.
“The idea of the Federation is always to improve our football, and of course, we would like to see Cristiano and Messi in the same league again, but the truth is that we don’t know anything now.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has already joined the Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. The Portuguese superstar, whose contract at Manchester United was terminated by mutual consent in November last year, has signed for Al-Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year deal that makes him the highest-paid footballer in the world.
He has already made his debut for Al-Nassr as he captained the side in their 1-0 win over Al-Ettifaq. However, Cristiano Ronaldo drew a blank on his debut for the Saudi Arabian outfit.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi played in Riyadh last week when Paris Saint-Germain faced Riyadh All-Star XI – a team that comprised of Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr players. The Argentine scored a goal as Paris Saint-Germain secured a 5-4 win.
Cristiano Ronaldo also added his name to the scoresheet, scoring two of the four goals the Riyadh All-Star XI scored in the game. Kylian Mbappe, Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos, Talisca, and Jang Hyun-soo also scored a goal each in the game while Neymar Jr missed a penalty.
