Football Transfer News: Ligue 1 team After the Chilean international’s career took another disastrous turn, Marseille expressed interest in signing former Arsenal hero Alexis Sanchez.
Since he switched from the red of Arsenal to the red of Manchester United in January 2018, the former Arsenal fan favourite has struggled. Sanchez left Manchester United for Inter Milan after failing miserably there, but he is now seen as unnecessary there as well.
Although it is generally accepted that Sanchez, a champion of Copa America, has passed his prime at age 33. The forward still harbours dreams of participating in the Champions League next year.
This is where Marseille come into the picture. Sanchez is rumoured to be interested in the move. Marseille is able to offer him minutes in Europe’s top club tournament.
Football Transfer News: Marseille is keen on the Chilean

Talks are reportedly advanced and the French team has already spoken with Sanchez. A transfer is only likely to be possible if the former Premier League star rips up his Inter Milan contract, according to La Provence.
Sanchez had a respectable season last time around, scoring 14 goals in all competitions. However, Simone Inzaghi is not likely to include him in his future plans. The 33-year-old was required to provide most of his minutes off the bench even last season.
Sanchez saw that his time in Serie A is running out last season since he played much fewer games than he did the year before.
Sanchez would have the opportunity to team up with two players who had previous experience at the Emirates if he moved to Marseille.
Join forces with Tavares and Guendouzi
Matteo Guendouzi never actually shared the field with Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal. The Frenchman undoubtedly possesses a similar “win at all costs” mentality. The two are likely to connect over their intense desire.
Nuno Tavares, the much-maligned left-back for the Arsenal, has only recently had his loan move to the south of France finalised. He will attempt to bounce back from what was a challenging Premier League debut season.
The working relationship between Marseille and Arsenal has grown very strong in recent years. William Saliba enjoyed a very productive loan season at the Stade Velodrome last season before rejoining the Gunners. Before making his move official earlier this summer, Guendouzi first left on loan.
If Sanchez is able to put an end to his Inter Milan woes, he will join a lengthy list of athletes who have worn the Arsenal and Marseille jerseys.
