Lucas Perez has hit a new low in his footballing career after Deportivo Alavés went ahead with the termination of his contract. The 32-year-old has had a stinker since returning to Spain from England.
What looked like a promising young lad has hit consistent lows in his footballing career for a couple of years. Ever since joining Deportivo Alavés, he just scored 15 goals in over 62 games in all competitions. The above stat just shows how bad of a form he is currently going through.
Remember him at Arsenal?
Lucas Perez eventually came into the limelight when he was linked with Arsenal in the summer of 2016. The Gunners were looking for a striker after Oliver Giroud cost Arsenal the Premier League title.
The French International went into hiding in the whole season and due to him, Arsenal made a second-place finish. It was a disappointment for Arsenal in the end and they went to sign Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruña. He was signed for £17 million. However, that window was Arsenal’s worst window in years, having made the signings of Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi.

Some foolish fans even went as far as to compare him with Lionel Messi. Lucas Perez was just a fraction of a point ahead of Messi in a stat and the stat instantly became viral. But Perez did not even show an inch of quality to prove the so-called stats.
He was a flop signing who majorly did nothing at Arsenal. Out of the eleven appearances, he managed to score just one goal. Though he was loaned out in the very next season and even sold to West Ham United in 2018.
The club management made a huge loss by selling him for just £4 million. But that was Perez’s quality in real life.
Moving from one club to another

However, even after moving to West Ham United, the 32-year-old did not settle even there. He did not get as many chances and featured only in 15 games for them. But he eventually netted three goals. And he was moved out after just one season similarly like Arsenal did with him.
Nevertheless even West Ham United made their mission to sell him during the summer of 2019. Deportivo Alavés came knocking on the doors and the Hammers sold him for €2.5 million thus making further losses.
Even multiple clubs start making massive losses on the same player one after the other. That just shows you, how bad of a player that certain footballer is. Perez similarly handed major financial losses to most of the clubs where he was brought.
However, Perez was looking settled at Alavés in the very starting days. But he could not even stay there for long. According to a report from The Sun, Alavés and Lucas Perez reached an agreement mutually to terminate the contract. Unfortunately for Perez, the association just ended in two years time.
But there are reports from Mundo Deportivo suggesting that Lucas could return to his former club Rayo Vallecano. They are keen to move for Lucas and the coming days could be interesting for both the parties.
