Arsenal are riding high on confidence at the moment. After struggling to pick up wins, they somehow found form and are quite electrifying on the field. Their 3-1 win over Chelsea gave them the much-needed confidence as they turned things around at the time.
They won 4 consecutive games across all competitions this season. Their recent win came against Newcastle United in the FA Cup 3rd Round at The Emirates. Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a goal each as the Gunners started the FA Cup campaign on a good note.
Arsenal was earlier knocked out by Manchester City in the quarter-final clash of the Carabao Cup competition. Since that defeat, they look like a different team altogether. Gunners are still in contention to make it to the top 4 in the Premier League considering their current form this season.
Earlier, they were just 2 points below the relegation zone but now, they are placed 11th in the points table with as many as 23 points. The Gunners secured 7 wins, lost 8 games, and played out 2 draws in the ongoing season of the EPL.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta deserves a certificate of excellence for instilling confidence in his players especially when they were finding ways to make a comeback. Earlier, they came under fire for not scoring goals this season but they gradually improved as the games progressed.
Harry Redknapp urges Arsenal to sign Jack Grealish
Under Unai Emery’s managerial career, Arsenal splashed the cash to sign Nicolas Pepe for a record £72 million from Lille. However, the Ivorian star was far from being impressive for the Gunners. Although he thrived well in some games, he hasn’t been consistent at the club.
Now, Arsenal are doing their best to release players to other clubs. It has been confirmed that Mesut Ozil is no longer part of Mikel Arteta’s plans as the creative midfielder looks set for a move to Turkish league club Fenerbahçe S.K. or MLS.
Meanwhile, former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has urged the Gunners to sign Aston Villa’s rising star, Jack Grealish. The English international has been linked to several big clubs in the wake of blistering performances in the English Premier League.
The former Tottenham Hotspurs boss thinks the Gunners should build their team around Jack Grealish, who is apparently worth £100 million price-tag, according to the Telegraph. Redknapp, who was talking with English journalist and broadcaster Piers Morgan in his podcast, termed Arsenal as a ‘massive football club’ and also reckons that they need to break the bank to rope in Jack Grealish.
“I think they have to spend. They are way off it, at the moment. They need to bring a bit of quality. Arsenal is a massive football club – Take a Grealish. He needs to play at the bigger club,” the former manager added.
Grealish worth the weight in gold
Jack, who plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for Aston Villa has created the most chances in the EPL this season. He is working really hard to guide his boyhood club into the top 4 this season.
They defeated Arsenal by 3-0 at the Emirates and are looking in great form this season. They are currently placed 8th in the table with 8 wins, 2 draws and 5 defeats. Having played 15 games, they secured 26 points.
