Formula 1 News: Pre-season testing for the 2022 Formula One season is now complete. Everyone is looking forward to seeing the teams in next weekend’s season opener in Bahrain Grand Prix, which kicks off the 2022 season.
Each team must adhere to the same set of rules and guidelines. This means that each team of F1 has equal resources and power. This season, at least five teams are likely to compete fiercely against one another. It will be difficult to win the championship this season.
Formula 1 News: Here Is the List of How Gary Anderson Rates Formula One Teams on the Basis of Their Pre Season Testing
Red Bull
Red Bull’s car, RB18, is so far the best-looking car in terms of ride control. It is driven by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. The team has controlled the porpoising and with its new sidepod arrangments, the team has been looking strong. The car is also smooth over the bumps and looks very consistent and Balanced.
Haas
The team has been on low fuel evidently but despite being a small team in F1, Haas has performed way better than the last season. Although, they have to understand how the car reacts to low fuel. This would be also helpful to Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen. Last season was very bad for them as they didn’t do any sort of development for their car.
Alfa Romeo
They had troubles at pre-season testing in Barcelona but solved a lot of them in Bahrain. They had to face a lot of porpoising at the first but eventually solved it as days went by. With Valtteri Bottas, who gives his everything during the race, and Zhou Guanyu, who is new to the F1 scene, Alfa Romeo looks considerably strong.
Ferrari
Ferrari was amazing in the pre-season testing according to Gary Anderson. They were always with a very good pace and has no doubt has made good developments. They have overcome the porpoising problem and look very strong this year. Gary believes that if they can perform the way they did without getting carried away next weekend, Ferrari will give a tough time to every other team.
McLaren
McLaren’s pre-season testing was a really bad one for them. McLaren faced a break cooling issue which stopped them from any race stimulation running and also was troublesome for evaluating the tires. The problem went deeper into the car and couldn’t be handled by just opening the cooling ducts. Other than this, the car seemed pretty nice with very little proposing.
Alpine
The team faced a lot of issues at both the pre-season testing. The team faced most porpoising than any other team on the grid. Driven by Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, the car was out of their control to an extent that the teams had to bring a dentist to check on the drivers’ teeth. Moreover, Anderson didn’t notice many developments from the team either.
Mercedes
Their performance was not upto their level in the pre-season testing. They used a lot of fuel and despite that their car’s ground running didn’t seem good. Their car looks worse than Barcelona and the team has been struggling a lot. The car is not good on the bumps and suffered from porpoising and brake locking. Although, Anderson is sure that Mercedes will be performing well next weekend as they’ll turn things around. It will be driven by Lewis Hamilton.
Alphatauri
Alpha Tauri seemed good as being a small team they ran on low fuel and performed considerably well. Their car is driven by Pierre Gaslyand Yuki Tsunoda. Gary Anderson praised Yuki and said that he has renewed himself this year and if he can be less incident prone, he can do very well this year.
Aston Martin
Aston Martin’s car faced some porpoising during the pre-season testing and their car was very slow in its reaction. Anderson feels that it is because of the heavyweight its carries or due to lack of grip reduction. He feels that they have a lot of speed to showcase in the 2022 season.
Williams
Their drivers were far off from their pace and their lap times weren’t also good. Alex Albon did a few low fuel runs and Nicholas also failed to put out the real capability of the car. Although, Anderson feels that Williams has a lot of paces to showcase.
