Lewis Hamilton’s historic century at Russian GP
Lewis Hamilton became the first driver to win 100 races after winning the 2021 Russian Grand Prix. He overtook the championship lead from rival Max Verstappen and only two points separate them.
Lewis had to wait for his 100th win as he was stuck on 99 for quite a while now. It was his fifth win of the season and his first since the British Grand Prix in July.
Lando Norris, a fellow Brit who was in a commanding position at the Russian Grand Prix was left devastated. Norris was in the lead for the majority of the race but then the rain started.

Lead pair Norris and Hamilton stayed out as others pitted for inters and it was the Mercedes man who made the decision to pit first. Norris was still out and was eyeing the first win of his career.
The McLaren driver did everything in his power to keep the lead, but as the rain started getting heavier, Norris slid off the track and Hamilton passed him for P1. Lando Norris finished the race seventh having pitted at the very end.
Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver started the race from the back of the grid in the 20th position. He finished the race second and Carlos Sainz of Ferrari finished third.
