Formula 1 news: Another event of the Race of Champions has now come to an end for this year. The game this year was carried out on snow and ice in Sweden.
And, once again some of the best drivers from across all motorsport disciplines assembled on the track to compete. All of them aspiring to gain a victory in a series of races in different machinery.
Four times Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel is one of those drivers.
He loves the challenge and joy that ROC provides to the participants. He participated in the Race of Champions for the eleventh time at the weekend, with Mick Schumacher backing him as a teammate, constituting Team Germany.
Vettel used to join his partner Mick Schumacher’s father. He partnered with the seven-time F1 star Michael Schumacher. Both of them were unbeatable together. And, this is proved because they won six ROC Nations titles for Team Germany. They won unfailingly from 2007 to 2012, creating remarkable squad goals.

Vettel recalled a story from back when he was “a bit younger” and a little “cocky” too. It is of the time when his then partner Michael Schumacher turned 40. Vettel used to tease Michael, pointing out that he was starting to get “old”.
He explained that he said when you are forty, it starts to go “downhill”. And, then Michael replied that yes that is “true”. But, “downhill is faster”, he added.
He added it is evident that Michael is “right”. Age truly does not matter in a way. So, it is “good” to witness Loeb enjoying his job. Be it racing here at ROC or driving at Dakar. Or, even competing in Rally championships. Therefore, he feels it is “impressive” in multiple ways.
The fans miss seeing Schumacher taking part in the ROC and acing it. But, they’re glad the events are now continuing with his son Mick. The ROC weekends are spectacular indeed, and the fans celebrate them.
Formula 1 news: Vettel impressed by Loeb in “many ways”, but not the age factor
However, this year Team Germany got thrown out in the early levels of the Nations Cup race. Sebastian Vettel carried on and managed to make the final. The final race of the Champion of Champions.
He was there competing with the nine-time World Rally Title conqueror Sebastien Loeb. But unfortunately, Sebastian got defeated by Loeb. And, the 47-year-old Loeb managed to win his fourth championship of the Race of Champions.
The media asked him a question regarding Loeb. They asked if Loeb’s spectacular performance impressed him. Since he is nearly 50 and has not let his age be a barrier in his career. He is still winning races.
Vettel replied that he was impressed by Sebastien Loeb “in many ways”. However, he said he was not impressed due to his age because the fact is, everybody gets older with time.
