Chelsea boss Frank Lampard provided an update on the comeback of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, currently out through injuries.

The England midfielder has been sidelined since rupturing his Achilles tendon in May, with the 23-year-old enduring a number of setbacks on his road to recovery.
Lampard at the news conference asked for an update on Loftus-Cheek’s injury situation on Friday. And Lampard confirmed, the midfielder is now edging closer to a return to action.
Lampard said: “He is actually training now with the Under-16s, with the Under-18s”. “And progression to the under-23s in a pretty short space of time”. He added, “the sooner he can be back training with us, the better, but we train with a real intensity”.
There’s a different look on Ruben’s face. He is more smiley and happy which I understand. It’s been tough for him. He’s integrating more towards us which is great news for all of us.
“If he can be training with us after the break, it might still need some competitive games but he might not be far away”.
Chelsea FC, currently preparing for premier league clash against Arsenal at Stanford Bridge on Tuesday night. As they look to continue their push and ranked in a top-four-finish.
Now, it remains to be seen when midfielder is considered fit enough for a return to action. Lampard didn’t sound too positive when delivering an update.
Lampard replied, “I don’t know, I don’t know,” during his pre-match press conference when asked how long Loftus-Cheek will be out for.
“Probably more than weeks.”, Lampard stated. But the fact he’s back running outside can only be a positive.
