Generally, CM (Central Midfielder) have to refrain from dribbling and the carrying is executed by players out wide, the wingers.
The Croatian International appears comfortable doing both after being given permission from Frank Lampard.

Evidently, the only player in England whose numbers can be matched with Kovacic is Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgium midfielder carries the ball around the same amount, but averaging 91 dribbles per game.
However, the 25-year-old is quite a rare talent. His skills are rare and suited to the modern game. When pressurized he’s able to bring his team to the final third of the pitch without relying on passing.
