Arsenal are in recruitment mode as we near the end of the season. Arsenal is linked to Real Betis playmaker for a summer switch.
Arsenal right now are being linked with a lot of attacking players. This season’s performances have clearly shown that Arsenal lacks the creative presence in their squad right now.
Things have been better since the arrival of Martin Odegaard. The main problem for the Gunners has been a lack of consistency. The performances are there but they just aren’t regular enough.
A key reason behind this could also be the lack of a fixed playing 11 for the club. But for that Mikel Arteta needs to have players he can count on day in and day out. This is where the decision lies for Arsenal.
They need to sign someone who can come in and have an impact like Bruno Fernandes had for Manchester United. Some feel that Nabil Fekir could fit into that role for the Gunners.
Fekir throughout his career has been a crucial player in whichever squad he has featured for. He has good creative instincts and you can count on him to put in a good solid effort day in and day out.
Although the numbers aren’t as good as you’d want them to be, his impact on the pitch can be felt. It always looked like the player needed a good team to really bring the best out of him and Arsenal can be that team.
Nabil Fekir or Martin Odegaard, Mikel Arteta faces a decision
The next transfer window will bring a lot of decisions for the Gunners manager. A lot of players are on loan at Arsenal while a lot of them are on loan away from the club. Dani Ceballos and Marin Odegaard are on loan at Arsenal.
While the likes of Torreira, Guendouzi are on loan away from Arsenal. Arteta has to decide who gets to stay with the Gunners. Should Arsenal go for permanent moves for Ceballos and Odegaard?
As per football London, Nabil Fekir’s arrival will also complicate things for Martin Odegaard as both the players play as a central attacking midfielder. Odegaard has often started on the right for Arsenal but that’s not his preferred position.
Fekir ideally likes to play in a no 8 role slightly ahead of the midfield, quite similar to Cesc Fabregas. This is also his favorite jersey number but currently, the number 8 is occupied by Dani Ceballos.
The Gunners budget will also come into play here. They have players who can acquire good value in the transfer market. Ceballos and Odegaard both have transfer values of $27 and $36 million respectively.
Arsenal can cover that with the sale of Torreira and a combination of Guendouzi or Maitland Niles. There is also the issue of a new centre-back for the club. The next summer will be very interesting in terms of how the Arsenal squad develops.
