Full Video surfaces suggesting Smith wasn’t changing Pant guard

The phrase ‘born cheater’ trended on social media platforms after the former Australian captain Steve Smith displayed his on-field antics during the third Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Smith was caught on stump cameras removing Pant’s guard on Day 5 of the Test match. This particular incident drew severe criticism from every nook and corner of the cricket fraternity.

Former cricketers, experts, and fans launched a scathing attack on Smith for this disgraceful act. Nobody really saw this coming from a player who was involved in a Sandpaper scandal in the past.

Did Smith change Pant’s guard?

The video clearly suggested that Smith changed Rishabh Pant’s guard lines after the drinks break in the SCG Test match. However, the video which appeared recently suggested that Smith wasn’t really tampering with Pant’s guard.

Smith also added that he was disappointed in how his actions are actually perceived as it is just a regular exercise, also known as, shadowing the wicket. According to Australian Test captain, Tim Paine, Smith was falsely trolled or criticized for this act.

Gabba awaits Australia and India in fourth Test

The Border Gavaskar Trophy series is currently at 1-1. Both the teams took turns to win a game each. The third Test match ended in a pulsating draw between the heavyweights. While everyone expected either of the team to win the game, a draw wasn’t really on the cards.

It is good to see Ajinkya Rahane still maintaining a good captaincy record in the Tests. He still hasn’t lost a Test as captain. However, the fourth and final Test in Brisbane at The Gabba will be an ultimate challenge for Rahane and his boys considering Australia’s track record there.

The hosts haven’t really lost there for quite a long time. Earlier, there were reports that Team India expressed their reluctance to travel to Brisbane for the fourth Test owing to strict quarantine procedures.

However, all those reports were dismissed after team management confirmed that India will be traveling to Brisbane. It is indeed to be an interesting battle as it is the decider of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series.

While the hosts are certain to go all-out on attack considering their sheer strength in all departments, that isn’t exactly the case for Team India that is dealing with a lot of injury problems.

Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the Border Gavaskar series with a fractured thumb. Ishant Sharma has already been ruled out. Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, KL Rahul, and Hanuma Vihari have also been ruled out of the fourth Test.
